Pumpkin chocolate cake recipe
Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon (tsp) of baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon (tsp) of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon (tsp) of salt
- 3 ½ teaspoons (tsp) of pumpkin pie spice
- ¾ cup of chopped baking chocolate
- 2 cups of pumpkin puree
- 2 ½ cups of applesauce
- 6 eggs
- ½ cup of canola oil
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
- Add the chopped baking chocolate.
- In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, applesauce, and eggs together until smooth.
- Mix in the canola oil.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.
- To make pumpkin chocolate cupcakes, scoop the batter into a cupcake pan lined with paper cupcake cups.
- To make a sheet cake, pour the batter into a small sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 14 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean.
