Your employees can get their medicine by mail
Your employees can save time and money by getting their prescriptions by mail. The Mail Order Pharmacy will deliver medicine right to their home. It will cost less than what they’d pay if they picked it up. Their medicine will usually be delivered within 10 to 14 days from the time the order is placed.
Reasons for your employees to use the Mail Order Pharmacy:
-
Get a 2-month supply of medicine for one copay
That means they pay half the cost and won’t have to get refills every month. -
Save gas and time
They won’t have to make trips to the pharmacy or wait in line. -
Get refill reminders by text or email
That way they won’t run out of their medicine. -
Order refills

In-network pharmacies
If your employees do not use any of our other options, they can only go to an in-network pharmacy for their medicine. There are thousands of in-network pharmacies in the Culinary Health Fund network. If they don't use an in-network pharmacy, they will have to pay the full cost of their medicine.
How much will my employees’ medicine cost?
At in-network pharmacies, your employees will have copays for their medicine. The copay amount depends on what they’re prescribed. Here’s what your employees will pay for their medicine at in-network pharmacies:
Generic medicine (Tier 1) | $10 copay |
---|---|
Formulary medicine (Tier 2) | $20 copay |
Non-formulary medicine (Tier 3) | $35 copay |
Specialty pharmacy
If your employee is diagnosed with a chronic or complex condition, like cancer, multiple sclerosis, or rheumatoid arthritis, a doctor may prescribe a “specialty drug.” Your employee or their doctor will need to get prior authorization for specialty drugs. Once they have prior authorization, they can only order the drug from our specialty pharmacy. The specialty pharmacy is Optum Specialty Pharmacy.
